Can Design Touch Someone's Heart?
Roberto Clemente is a public school located in Lower East Manhattan, a district with a status that have been identified for in need of improvement under the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). We wanted to touch the hearts of the children and the school staff. The solution was to design a children's book under the name of the school: Roberto Clemente.
Roberto Clemente was a famous Puerto Rican baseball player who off the field, spent most of his time involving in charity work in Puerto Rico and other Latin American countries, often delivering baseball equipment and food to those in need.
Inspired from Roberto's good heart of sharing, we wrote a story based on his life to try to deliver the importance of sharing, and how sharing could be fun for kids. We hand bounded 10 hardcover books and delivered them to the school.
Collaboration with Tomas De Carcer.
Created under the direction of Stefan Sagmeister.
