Augmented (hyper)Reality: Domestic Robocop
8 months ago
The latter half of the 20th century saw the built environment merged with media space, and architecture taking on new roles related to branding, image and consumerism. Augmented reality may recontextualise the functions of consumerism and architecture, and change in the way in which we operate within it.
A film produced for my final year Masters in Architecture, part of a larger project about the social and architectural consequences of new media and augmented reality.

Prev week
would be crazy to live like that :P
Brilliant addition.
Seriously though, this is a very well made demo and an intelligent prediction on how AR will be used in our daily lives.
I really liked this. I have passed it onto working in Augment Reality. If you want to make it real get in touch with him . aquigley.blogspot.com/
Very well done! Bravo!
Even if this future scares more than anything I've seen!
Bravo!
The idea of so much information at your fingertips anywhere in the world is tantalizing. It WILL change how we view the world and that is all I can ask in a piece of important technology.
Good job. I can't wait to see this made a reality, even with the downsides of information overload, commercialization run-amok, and whatever other unforeseen social changes come about as a consequence of it.
Make a feature film.
I've been coming back to this video a few times now. awesome!
I was brought back to 1982 - sitting in the cinema watching Bladerunner for the first time - being blown away - and experiencing that 'feeling' that still to this day is my benchmark for something special/great.
Thank you for making my day!! :)
Looking forward to follow your work,
Ingi
this video is horrifying in a good way. really cool, this is realy cool, very much a film to be experienced not watched.
Cheers
Was your project's aim more to explore the future uses of AR technology, or to look into the social consequences of advertising taken to it's logical conclusion?
In any case it's masterfully executed, well done :)
Did you use After Effects?
And thanks, and yes :)
I think you might find my critique "augmented reality vs. aura recognition" interesting; arsvirtuafoundation.org/research/
part 1 and part 2 are posted; part 3 coming soon!
excelente pulentito!

Hello vimeo community, I would
like to introduce you to my mathematical method.
I have already earned a lot of
money with this method. In my opinion it is
the best way to make money on the Internet.
Just look at my profile, there you'll find
a video in which everything is explained well.

Cool vid and nice concept.
Being a graphic designer that loves coding, I'm a huge fan of that technology, but I think we still miss the point when using it (as well as other technologies, like multitouch devices etc...). I'm glad to see someone depicting a "not so bright future" (that's totally subjective) as opposed to this trend trying to use AR to enhance brand recognition and all that marketing crap.
I'm going to follow your work, for sure.
Only question is: could we really handle this level of permanent information overflow? And what will happen to us and our perception of reality. Again: brilliant vid, good opening to a lot of discussions.
I guess those questions are also ones being posed by me. William Gibson's still got it though!
Congrats for your hard work!
