Michael Holm & Kristian Schultze
BSC Music - 1983 - Album: Virgin Island
Samoa is an archipelago in the South Pacific country. It became independent from New Zealand in 1962. Its capital and most populous city, is Apia. Contact with Europeans began in the early eighteenth century, but escalated until the arrival of British traders and missionaries in the 1830s. Samoa's climate is tropical, with an average annual temperature of 26.5 ° C, and a rainy season from November to April. Samoa's economy has always been dependent on agricultural exports and currency sent by their domestic as well as foreign aid. Two thirds of the population is engaged in agriculture, the most important export activity of copra and coconut oil and other derivatives of the same plant.
