HONORARIUM (selected shots)
Honorarium is a short film I shot in October. About half the scenes were shot on a Sony EX-1, the rest on a Canon EOS 7D (identified by supers.)
The EX-1 settings were: 24P, 1920x1080, 1/48th shutter, -3db gain.
The Canon EOS 7D: 24P, 1920x1080, 1/48th shutter.
Edited in Final Cut Pro. The 7D's H.264 QuickTime files were converted to XDCAM so that they could be cut in the same timeline with the Sony XDCAM footage.
These scenes feature Reid Nelson and Alex Gehring

Cinematographic shutter formula
Motion picture cameras used in traditional film cinematography employ a mechanical rotating shutter. The shutter rotation is synchronized with film being pulled through the gate, hence shutter speed is a function of the frame rate and shutter angle. With traditional shutter angle of 165° or 180° the film is exposed for 1/48 or 1/50 second at a standard 24 frame/s.[14]
And at 1:05 a bad keyed mask at the glass
any tests lead you to use this setting? im intrigued.
didnt see any noise at that setting though.
i ask since you seem very technical in your response, so any input would be great.
