Christopher Lemmings plays a scene from William Defoe's famous character Robinson Crusoe in a production of Philippe Fenelon and Ian Burton's 'JJR Citoyen de Geneve', directed by Robert Carsen. In the scene he explains how he wanted he spent much time designing and creating a boat from a tree trunk, only to find when it was ready that it was far too heavy to move to the water, which eventually meant he was haunted by it's image, sat there, for evermore. Jean Jacques Rousseau believed every child should be given 'Robinson Crusoe' to read at an early age.
