Rio de Janeiro in December. I spent two weeks in Brazil on vacation as a refugee from the Swedish winter. I had my Canon 7D with me and an array of lenses, a light tripod and a monopod and filmed whenever I had the chance.
The 7D performed admirably in the heat and only once or twice did I get an overheating warning (and ignored it without any adverse consequences). The only problem was the weak tripod (Manfrotto 190XB) which is compact but not very steady and a Gitzo GM5561T which is almost as bulky as the tripod while being, well, a monopod and hence not all that stable. Despite the shortcomings I think the tripod in question was a good choice given its compact size. There was no chance of carrying around my big tripod anyway. As for monopods..meh..if you want a good one, it will be almost as big as a tripod and much less stable.
The lenses I had with me were: Canon 50/1.4, Canon 85/1.8, Sigma 18-200/5.6-6.3 IS, Sigma 30/1.4, Tokina 11-16/2.8
