Early tests with my home built skater dolly. Made from plans found on the internet, the dolly is made from 8 roller blade wheels, steel angle stock and a plywood base. For track I have 1/2" iron pipe which is very smooth but have not yet tried to join extra lengths together to have longer than a 9' length of track.
The shots of the kitchen are with the dolly running on the floor without any track. The shots of the bongos are attempts to do a truck move with the setup while panning and tilting to keep the objects in frame. It's very hard to do all three things together and would be much easier to accomplish smooth framing if a second person was pushing the dolly.
