My mission is to tell the long overdue story of my great-great-grandfather Sergeant Isaac Hall, one of over 200,000 African American Civil War Soldiers who fought to preserve the Union and to abolish slavery.
He fought in the 32nd Regiment United States Colored Troops, Company. K. Classified as a “slave for life” he obtained his freedom through War Department General Order 329 which enabled him to enlist into the Union Army.
