Australians Clean Up from Gusty Winds

Anna Chan:
The Australian states of Victoria and Tasmania are cleaning up a mess left by powerful wind storms yesterday. Gusts over a hundred kilometers and hour and left three dead. Here's more.
Local emergency services worked through the night to clear debris.
[Glen O'donnell, State Emergency Services]:
"We've had a couple of situations where roofs have been completely blown off houses, trees through roofs, over roads, it's just been chaos over there as far as debris goes."
Winds of up to 130 kilometers an hour blew through the states, uprooting trees, lifting the roofs off houses, and leaving many homes without power.
There are reports that a power worker has been electrocuted in Mornington, Victoria. But this hasn't been confirmed by local authorities.
Vacationers and residents in Tasmania woke up this morning to find roofs strewn across lawns and holiday cabins nestling up trees following an evening of gusts. Emergency services in the state worked around the clock to clear debris and restore power.
Local residents can't believe the scope of the damage as they looked at their homes and property this morning.
[Terry Cupit, Tasmanian Resident]:
"I've lived here almost, well, the better part of my life and I
have never witnessed wind of this magnitude and destruction like you can see,
certainly not where I live around here."
[Brian Innes, Tasmanian Resident]:
"My next door neighbor's got half my roof and the neighbors to the other side of them got the other half of the roof."
More cyclonical winds are expected to hit the island today and many roads are closed. The Bureau of Meteorology has issued another severe weather warning for the area.
