During my summer trip to Doha in 2013 I was impressed by the beautiful and wealthy city. However, there was something that made me devastated, angry and sad. Doha's popular shopping area Souq Waqif is filled with shops selling colourful clothing, exciting spices, and dying animals. Animals that are crammed into small cages, suffering from dehydration and sometimes don't get sold in time before the heat gets the best of them. All open in the public - how is this possible?
