Christopher Raeburn showcases his womenswear collection for A/W 14/15 at London Fashion Week. Much like the menswear it is inspired by the Ragnar Axelsson exhibition ' Last Days of the Arctic' which documents the disappearing landscapes, wildlife and culture of the arctic explorers. The collection is called 'Aurora' and features protective layering and heavy outerwear but with a more poetic feel and feminine silhouettes. Innovation and British manufacture are key messages for the season as Christopher uses Merino wool's versatility in feminine interpretations of his iconic creative style. Featuring beautiful Merino knitwear pieces alongside Hainsworth fabrics and Italian printed protective outerwear and contemporary tailored separates which is inspired by the colours, textures, quality of light and wildlife only found in the arctic landscape. The remade category includes 50 limited edition pieces made from deconstructed Siberian officers deep winter sheepskin coats, a development of the hugely popular style found in the menswear but reinterpreted for womenswear.
