I love both these old songs - "Hey Aloha No O Honolulu" says farewell, then "Honolulu, I'm Coming Back Again" celebrates a return.
Doug Young hosts a long running acoustic guitar showcase in the San Francisco Bay Area. The venue for the last few years has been the Mission City Coffee Roasting Company, in Santa Clara, CA. On January 3, 2010, Doug invited me and Goh Kurosawa to appear as his guests.
You can learn more about Doug and his showcase and other activities at dougyoungguitar.com
Goh Kurosawa has a beautifully designed site at happysad.org/goh/english/gk_bio.html
I'm playing my Tony Yamamoto OMY guitar with a Pick Up The World Steatlh undersaddle pickup and internal Stealth preamp, through a TC Electronics G Natural effects processor.
Three cameras were used for this video. The head shot was hand held by Tony Yamamoto, shooting my Panasonic ZS3. The wide shot from the audience is my Sanyo Xacti HD2000. Doug loaned me his Kodak Zi8 for the stage-side shot. Audio is a combination of a direct feed from the house mixer to my Zoom H2 and the camera sound from the Xacti.
