U.S. Navy SCUBA School

This is a video I edited for the graduation ceremony of my 5-week SCUBA course at the Navy Diving and Salvage Training Center. One of my instructors was really keen on the idea of having a graduation video. Since I was the lone combat cameraman in a class full of submariners, the editing duties naturally fell into my lap. Since I was at NDSTC to be a student, I didn't bring my pro-gear. I didn't have any microphones or a tripod. Almost every shot in the video came from an Olympus Tough point-and-shoot camera. The video was actually shot by the entire class. I would leave the camera sitting around, and everyone would take turns shooting video and stills. Some of those submariners are damn good cameramen. Even the instructors picked up the camera and did some shooting! Of course, there were some events and evolutions that I wasn't allowed to shoot (Pool Week), but I think this video gives a pretty nice little synopsis of our SCUBA class. I hope you enjoy it. -bc
