The stark black and white juxtaposition of the two elements is intended to highlight the glaring inconsistency between the United States' promises of boundless opportunity and the stark realities many immigrants face. As raids, deportations, and detentions centers grow dramatically in number along the increasingly fortified Mexican Border, the many cameras that vigilantly maintain the "integrity" of United States borders capture a daily record of forgotten promises.
