A Cello Rondo
I thought it would be a fun project to write and record a pop tune using nothing but cellos, then make a video of the performance. The original goal was to keep everything entirely acoustic, with no recording studio effects or other processing. I quickly abandoned that idea to get more variety of sounds, but everything you hear was played entirely on my cello. There are 37 separate cello parts recorded on 23 tracks using 37 plug-in effects. I don't know if I should be embarrassed to admit I spent hundreds of hours on this project, or proud to have paid so much attention to detail. You be the judge.

I found your website by searching, "How to play cello." I am 42 years old this month and have never played an instrument, but really want to learn how to play the cello. I feel encouraged by your essay, "In the Express Lane: Learning to play the cello as an adult." Of course I am much more disadvantaged than you because I have no experience with music and I am left handed, yet I appreciate your suggestions and hope I can find a teacher in Hawaii. Maybe if I am persistent with practice..
I enjoyed your, A Cello Rondo. You make playing look joyous.
aloha from Hawaii
I'm missing your nekkid girl to tie you up, though. (-:

It's really interesting that you happen to play cello and have a greenscreen setup, because I've been looking into recreating the multiple-arm effect in this video: youtube.com/watch?v=ldPf3yqq3-8 .
We should collaborate on something in the future if you're interested.
Is there any way I can get a copy of this video?
Cheers!
I'm a fan Ethan :-)
