Narrated by Paul McGrath

A 4 part series on Setanta Ireland Starts weekly on Monday 3rd March @ 7pm

Over thirty years ago, a young man left St. Patrick’s Athletic to join Manchester United. He was to go on to be one of Ireland’s greatest footballers. His name was Paul McGrath.

Since then, thousands of young boys have made the journey from Ireland to England chasing a dream to become professional football players. This series spends a year with a number of them. One of them may become the next Paul McGrath.

Paul narrates this observational documentary series that follows a number of these boys as they try to become professional footballers. This programme reveals the trials and tribulations, the joy and the heartbreak of life as a Football Scholar.

With unique behind the scenes access to top UK clubs Sunderland and Burnley, this is a fascinating glimpse into the world of professional football.
