I agree with you David that Seth has a talent for getting very thoughtful, insightful books into our hands and heads with uncanny timing. Thank you for introducing me to Seth Grodin's latest book and keep up your good work!

My hunch is that Dave didn't believe a word Seth Godin said.

He lavished praise on him of course but he didn't express any agreement.

I'm going to check the history of public schools to see if the were the product of a conspiracy to create - not disciplined, literate workers - but slave-like cretins.

Seth has a gift to inspire me.

The problem with his theory is that during the industrial revolution, children worked long hours in factories for many decades before ever obtaining the right to go to public school. Children were ideal for factories because of their small hands and low pay. The idea that public schooling was created to put people into factories is just historically incorrect. I do agree that there are many issues with public schools, but the very base of this theory is simply incorrect.
