At times people were 10 deep. On the fast stretch from Stadium to Nifong Boulevard, drivers were stopped, standing alone outside of their cars. You could see it all from the vantage point of the firetruck. Schoolchildren stood in a row. A person, standing in a ditch, held a flag. You were driving through a valley of people showing their support and sorrow. This was the view from the Jefferson City Fire Department’s Reserve Squad truck 120 as Joel Swader guided the truck along the procession route. These are the photographs and video of that view Thursday morning, Columbia, Mo., Feb. 27, 2014.
