Newcastle University Theatre Society presents: Arcadia

Culture Lab, 7th–9th March 2014

It’s 1809 and child prodigy, Thomasina Coverly, is sitting with her tutor Septimus Hodge in her Derbyshire country house, Sidley Park. In the same room 180 years later, historian Hannah Jarvis, along with Bernard and Valentine uncover a trail of confusion, jealousy and death left when Lord Byron comes to stay at Sidley Park.

As their investigation progresses, the boundaries between the past and the present begin to blur. Filled to the brim with sex, literature and ‘pistols at dawn’, in idyllic Arcadia it turns out anything can happen when love intervenes.
