Grassroots Suicide Prevention is in the process of delivering a three year plan to designate Brighton and Hove as the UK’s first ‘Suicide Safer City,’ and are making significant progress towards achieving this award. The designation is given by LivingWorks Education, the developers of ASIST and SafeTALK training programmes. There is a strong possibility that we may, indeed, be the UK’s first suicide safer city.
Grassroots launched the Suicide Safer Brighton & Hove initiative on World Suicide Prevention Day, September 10th 2012 and they aim to achieve the designation by September 10th 2015.

I pledge that I will:
tell someone if I'm struggling and need help;
reach out and tell you if I'm worried about you;
listen to you, without judgment if you need someone to talk to;
ask you, directly, if I think you're trying to tell me about suicide;
help you get support if you're struggling and/or thinking about suicide.
