Avery Lawrence was the winner of a mural design contest commissioned by the Charlottesville Mural Project and the IX Project. His winning design, "Hands Together", was chosen by a select voting board of local artists, curators, arts administrators, and city officials.

The Charlottesville Mural Project brings public art to the walls of Charlottesville to inspire the public and support local artists. The CMP focuses on two murals a year--one with an established artist and one with a youth community.

Special Thanks to our sponsors: The IX Project, Blue Ridge Building Supply, Benjamin Moore, Gropen, and United Rental, and the CACF Fund.
