This video illustrates the evolution of the density and sentiment of messages related to Hurricane Sandy posted within between 17:00 EDT October 25 and 20:00 EDT October 29. The density is highlighted by bar height, and the sentiment is highlighted by blue (positive) or red (negative). At an early stage, the prevalent sentiment is either neutral or positive, and the interest in the hurricane is comparatively low, except for the Miami area. Close to the landing time, the sentiment in the area affected by the hurricane is overwhelmingly negative.
