Forgiving means forgetting – it’s a cliché statement that everybody has heard at some point or another, if they haven’t used it themselves on a regular basis. However, cliché statements aren’t necessarily always true. From a Biblical perspective, is forgiving means forgetting actually a good theological comment to make? Is this the way that God the Father forgives us? Is this the kind of forgiveness that Jesus earned for us on the cross? Is this kind of forgiveness even good enough?
