Jerry Weast is superintendent of the Montgomery County Public Schools, the largest and most diverse school system in Maryland. Dr. Weast and a team of school system and union leaders worked with the Harvard University Public Education Leadership Project (PELP) to improve school governance and implement a district-wide management structure that put equity at its center.
