I usually set it up then set the manual focus and exposure, but for this one I just set the manual focus and let the full auto exposure do it's thing for the sunset.
Since I got my interval box for my camcorder I have had it set at 3 second intervals and let it run till what Im shooting is done.
Do you calculate time of event, interval, and frames, & shoot for an end result amount of video or do you just set it up and shoot for how ever long?
Say I wanted 10 seconds of video. I want to shoot the last hour of the sunset. 60minutes x 60 seconds= 3,600 seconds, 10 seconds x 30 fps = 300 frames. so 3,600 seconds divides by 300 = 12 second interval.
Just wondering.
That's truly beautiful.
Is there any risk of burning your sensor with it aimed at the sun for such a long time?
I don't know for sure but when I have asked people have said no. I have read you have to worry about lightning. When filming in the the dark waiting for a bolt the sensor is gained up and then the bright bolt of lightning strikes and can wreck your sensor. But before I knew that I filmed lightning for about 2 hours just like they described and I have not noticed any damage.
For the sunset I left it in auto exposure so it could decide and adjust the exposure.
It was my friends backyard.
Were they jetstreams or just normal cloud formations?
