the actors must've been a pain the butt because of all that waiting. U should post all the photographs taken in the process. I wonder if that little girl knows how to use a 1d mark IV?

It would be amazing to see this commercial in first-person POV, even if it looked like the only thing you're doing is to shoot POVs, this is still AMAZING!

Love this spot from beginning to end. (Though I do find it fascinating that you used film cameras to shoot a lot of the footage in this Canon digital/DSLR spot) ;)

Either way terrific job, and SO MUCH cooler than the stuff I was producing at 23!!! Keep it up Saman!
  •
  • It would have been nice if the canon ad was shot on a canon rather than the video cams used.

    Nevertheless great stuff!!!!

Wow, great to see the energy and enthusiasm on set here.

Sooo cool, creative and talented you guys are - I'm tempted to feel jealous, instead I just wanna say can I come work for you some time?
  •
  • Very cool. Why was some shot on 16mm and not all on DSLR? Asthetics? Looks great and shoot looks fun.

this was an aesthetic choice. Their is a ton of motion in it, and film handles high motion a lot better especially because of the rolling shutter with some of the Canon products like the G10 or 5D MkII, but also CANON still prides themselves on their film cameras, so we wanted to have as many of these formats as possible (ie: film, HD, SD).

    Saman
  • Its actually cool to see the formats working together so well.

It is a shame that they used a 35mm film camera to shoot this commercial (camera can be seen on timecode 00:30) when a lot of us are shooting commercials entirely on the 5d around the world.
Its a shame that Canon haven't believed in their camera potential to shoot their own commercial.
    I'm really disappointed.
  • Ryan Postel 1 year ago
It's not about the camera, its about the content. And this commercial was very awesome. Not everyone has to make a push in the same direction. There always needs to be diversity!

Dude, this is a commercial for Canon Cameras!
Would you use Sony cameras to shoot a Panasonic commercial?
