  • great stuff as usual Casey! You coming to In[focus] next year? It'd be great to meet you! Question, are you converting all clips to 24p? I know the firmware update is coming soon for the 5d or are you using the 7d now?

The steadicam work is AWESOME Casey!! Very well coordinated. It looks like a Flyer LE at work at least to pan that fast.
  • Sean,

Yeah, it was the Flyer LE in fact. Its a great rig and my favorite so far. The thicker post handle is really worth it in the model alone, and then also the extendable post helps alot too. This shoot had HEAVY winds the entire time we were outside, and being able to extend the post was huge on maintaining stability. Some shots though, couldnt even be done it was too windy (we tried them anyway and ended up with a ton of crazy windblown stuff, hehe) But nonetheless we had a blast shooting it.

U confirmed the need for me to upgrade to a Flyer! I'm just waiting for NAB 2010 to see if Tiffen is coming up with a straight bottom design like the Pilot. The pilot is cool but it is not heavy enough to handle whip pans. Anyway, u r one of the 5 GODS of wedding video to me. Keep up the good work Casey!!!

wow! stadicam perfectly used? the flyer it`s amazing! which lenses have you used with the 5d?
  • We use a ton of different lenses depending on the situation. This Piece was shot with the 24mm and 35mm on Steadicam and then a 50mm on a mono pod.

    Thanks,

    Casey W.

Wow this Steadicam is flawless. It doesn't feel at all like a Merlin watching it, feels much more solid than that. This has to be the best 5D Steadicam stuff I've seen so far. Not a hint of bounce going down the stairs either in one shot. Nicely edited and great music too, congrats.

You guys really set the bar for, not only wedding videography, but digital cinematography in general. Amazing work! Between yall and Philip Bloom you can literally see the landscape of the industry change day-by-day. Cheers-
