Here's another slo motion test using After Effects pixel motion. We're thinking of using this technique in a short video very soon. Stay tuned!

It looks good, but what is the difference?
  • What do you mean difference? difference between what?

We just wanted to see what one of our opening shots might look like when we start shooting that's all

Sorry , I read your description as you were testing AE's pixel motion technique slo-mo instead of using whatever form of slowmotion technique you were using before.

I had not heard of pixel motion before so I thought it was new or something.
  • Ah I see. Well I usually just do slow mo in Final Cut if it's something simple. It just takes less time that way. But if I'm looking to do some extreme slo mo I've been trying out AE a little more.

so are you shooting on a different frame rate or not?
  • No just filming like I normally do, but then in AE I'm applying a time stretch of 200 percent and turning pixel motion on. This creates in between frames instead of giving you that ghosting effect that you sometimes see with slo mo footage.
