This was taken from the bridge at Multnomah Falls. Images were edited in Photoshop with the help of a tilt-shift tutorial.

I love the tilt shift stuff but to combine it with time lapse...awesome! Thanks for that one, AC!

    what's tilt shift?
  • Harley 3 years ago
tilt/shift is a lens that can be tilted at a certain degree, that comes out in an unreal, toy model look. Sick footage is made, but too bad the lens are around 1000$...

That is awesome. I was just there also. I didn't go on the bridge because I had no way to protect my camera from the spray. I may have been one of the little people ants in the video. Too cool!
  • Andrew Curtis 3 years ago
Yeah, I had my camera covered in a neoprene wrap, some of the shakiness is me bumping the camera as I'm huddled over it trying to protect it from the spray.

Wow! This is the first tilt-shift style video I have ever seen. What a cool effect.

The ferns and undergrowth to the left of the platform really look like a close-up of moss and lichen.

"They all look like little ants from up here." :)

Nice. How do you apply the changes to ever image? Is it one at a time are an auto thingy.
  • Andrew Curtis 3 years ago
I photoshopped one image then batch processed the rest.
  • Pauly Forte 3 years ago
Batch Process.. thats the word I was looking for. Really cool.

I see you are using the D80 for your projects. With all the talk about the new D90, I started thinking of upgrading my D70. But the D300 has my interest as well.

this is so great! and it really does look unreal.
can you tell me what song you used for this? I'm figuring by the tags that it's by the Flaming Lips? It's so dreamy and fits the video so well.
  • Andrew Curtis 3 years ago
The song is called "My Cosmic Autumn Rebellion"

So, over what period of time did you do the time lapse for? Very cool effect, and Multnomah is so busy most days...great choice!
  • Andrew Curtis 3 years ago
Can't remember exactly but it's probably only 15-30 mins

I've been trying to find a tilt-shift tutorial for awhile now.

Where would one find such a thing?
  • smashingmagazine.com/2008/11/16/beautiful-examples-of-tilt-shift-photography/

At the bottom of this page, that was mentioned above by timelapseforum.

Sweet vid by the way! :)

Very cool... So this is just a series of Photographs? No way to really do this with video right?
  • Andrew Curtis 3 years ago
Correct, although I suppose you could do it with video if the camera accepts a DSLR tilt shift lens.
