The 4.0L V8 engine of the 2008-2012 E9X BMW M3 is a boss for the M car in the last 20 years. It has the torque we dreamed of that earlier models did not have. Thus making driving the M3 truly a blast. Having owned a 2008 E90 BMW M3 and doing our tuning R&D on a 2011 E92 M3, we know first hand the pros and cons of this engine. With a simple ECU flash, the V8 becomes a monster in the entire RPM band. There is no 1 single point that does not gain performance and power. Quicker throttle response, increased torque making the wheels spin, and top end that pulls uber hard. The VR Tuned ECU flash adds about 15HP in stock configuration. The car we tested here included our sister company, Agency Power's, complete header back exhaust system. Doing a before and after dyno with the ECU tune as the only variable, this test car gained 30 wheel horsepower! What you give the gas pedal now becomes what you expect the M3 to deliver. As tested on our Mustang dyno, the E9X M3 delivered a great gain that any BMW owner can appreciate. The Mustang Dyno usually gives a drivetrain loss of 10-15% in RWD which is spot on for our numbers.

Crank Horsepower Ratings:
Stock Power -- 414HP and 295ft/lbs
Tuned Power -- 430HP and 305ft/lbs
