    LOVE Intelligentsia coffee.

I'm curious, but what equipment did you use besides the 5DMKII? (lens, tripod, lighting, etc.)
  • The D4D plus 2 years ago
Hi Kyle - Thanks for the q. Mostly natural light but we had a small Kino on set for a few shots. Check out the thread for Espresso, its got a bunch of details on the process and gear. Cheers!

Excellent feature, very informative too! Am i allowed to give it four grins? :D :D :D :D
The glow @ 1:42 from the burner against the b/w bg of everything else if fab!
Question tho... looks like you had 3 cameras rolling.. One front wide, one lower left & a maybe a third doing closeups?? True?
    Very well put together.. congrats!

Love the burner! Two cameras, multiple takes. Cheers.

Oh delicious coffee porn. Tell me you're going to make videos about lugged steel bike frames next :)

Love this beautifully-shot process. Any chance of making another version with everything in black and white except Chris's tats?

Never seen siphon coffee demonstration before. Quite a process. Very labor intensive including the cleanup. Appears to take at least four times the effort and time compared to an espresso. Very interesting and well done.

LA Mill in Silverlake also makes excellent siphon coffee. We have Intelligentsia and Clover machines at work, which is awesome, but the siphon is still my favorite.

May I ask what is the brand of the siphon? It is very similar to Bodum, but it isn't Bodum. At least not the one I know... :-) BTW Lovely!

No idea! You may want to check out Intelligentsia's website.

Can't wait to see next film about cappuccino.
    I ♥ coffee :-)

In your videos I like very much this colour accent you make. I mean everything in b&w, but ground coffee, espresso and coffee beverage.

    Well done!

Nicely done. What is being used for selective color correction, and titles?

Great! For some reason I really liked edit at 4:38. Makes it look like he's pointlessly (to some) pouring it into another container.. Just after he says 'Decant it into another vessel'.

Can't wait for the third video.

It's sooo cruel, when you promise us a new vid about cappucino and then nothing happens. ;-) We are desperate! We want to know your secrets about cappucino! :-)
BTW I have bought my Syphon thanks to your vid. Many thanks!
