Contrasting Manchester Ave. (aka MO-Route 100) before and after restriping from four-lanes to three-lanes plus bike lanes at its major intersection with Kingshighway, St. Louis City. This restriping by MoDOT, following recommendations from those promoting bike lanes, was directly responsible for a car-bike collision only a month after completion. Bike lane promoters appear to be undeterred by the dangers they pose to competent cyclists, and the novices they may attract.
