We went out to Union Square to test out a new polarizing filter and the effectiveness of the Sennheiser MK418 shotgun mic on a windy day directly mounted on our Canon c100 cinema camera.
We came across this guy who gave a compelling diatribe on the status quo of NYC circa 2014. We went back to the studio and cut it together in a couple hours.
A few things we learned:
1. New York used to be different.
2. The Sennheiser MK418 works pretty well in high wind at close range straight into camera.
3. Once again, polarizing filters are an absolute must on a sunny day.
