This is a group project I worked on during my internship at Side Effects.
All the water/ocean aspects done by John Lockwood.
Lava simulations, Volcano smoke plume and Ship model by Cody Stoof
I worked on the following aspects:
Shaders - For the lava, terrain, ship, smoke trails
Modelling - Procedural terrain model.
Steam - Steam emitted from the intersections between the lava and the ocean
Smoke trails - In the third shot I did the smoke trails tumbling down the island. All done with POPs
Lighting/Rendering - Lit and rendered everything together with John Lockwood
Compositing - Composited all the shots (In Nuke)
All other aspects were done by John Lockwood and Cody Stoof.
Everything is done in Houdini.
