Local Food in Nova Scotia - Halifax Farmer's Market
2 years ago
"Maybe you, maybe you got to go out on the street and say dammit all, look are we crazy? are we are going to lose a history of 400 years of food production because nobody thought about it? Start thinking about it!"
The Halifax Farmer's Market is the oldest in North America. However, we need to produce much more local food in Nova Scotia.
I helped film and edit this project that students put together at Dalhousie University in Halifax Nova Scotia. The project was called "Greening the Campus Initiative."
It's all about the reasons why we need to produce and consume local food. The quote, above, is from a local farmer. Paul Colville is on-fire and pretty much sums it all up here. Skip to 13:45 in the video to hear his full interview.
Or for fun skip to 4:00 into the video the hear the "radio show" It is hilarious.
