A short history about explosive power in the Universe for The Big Idea (the Museum of Scottish Invention) on the Ardeer Peninsula, near Irvine. The film was shown on a large screen with the audience seated on a motion platform which they did not discover until the seats began to move unexpectedly. The Big Idea opened in April 2000 at a cost of £14 million which was provided by Lottery funding from the Millennium Project. The project was housed in a spectacular earth-covered building built on the site of Alfred Nobel's former dynamite factory, on land donated by ICI . All original filming, animation and visual effects were carried out in house.
