A convenience store and restaurant owner responds to the idea of a bottle bill in Minnesota that would require 10 cent deposits for most every beverage container. The practical aspects of such an idea just don't make sense, says Tony Donatell with Lone Oak Market in Eagan, Minn. "Their going to spend quite a bit of damage to the environment in petroleum consumption," says Donatell, who reacted to the idea of having redemption centers around the state where people could get their deposit money back.
Recycle Smart Minnesota is a coalition of citizens, businesses, and community organizations working for sustainable recycling solutions. It supports best practices, increasing recycling and educating consumers about how to recycle more. The group wants to make recycling available in as many places as possible. It opposes recent efforts to implement a 10¢ bottle deposit in the state.
