WTF, just rotate the damn screen and give me a single page. You know? Like a book.

You'll have those options, of course.

    no page flip effects?

@drew, that works but only as long as it's not a double page spread, which are relatively common in comics. Though I do agree that all these fancy features are unnecessary, just display pages and let people swipe to change to a new one.

Yep, the "guided view" will certainly be optional!

What a bunch of luddites! why not take advantage of the technology to create something new, interactive and totally unique to the medium?
think about it, you could have sound effects, animations, cross-overs into a kind of point and click videogame. You could have a comic where you shape the plot through your actions. Turn it into the ultimate story-telling experience.

That would be nice, but it creates a huge burden on the comic producers to create additional content when all they really want is to get their comics onto digital readers.

While I understand the draw to a rich multimedia experience (creating those is my job), I think that the value of a pure comic book experience is underrated. I don't need someone to take over my imagination with visual and audible noise all the time. Sitting down with a silent comic book at my leisure is part of the magic.

@Andrew: You are correct on double page spreads, but, in that case, I would just rotate the screen, hopefully and fit the whole thing.

@comixology: Well, if that's an option, then I'm in.

@Alex: I just want my comics. If I want animation, I'll watch a cartoon. Not every book needs to be a movie, and not every comic needs to be "enhanced"

  • What are the formats you would have to use on this? Could it read cbz formats?
