ROOMAN is a project currently in development by Fleur Elise Noble. Over the next 3 years it will grow into a visual musical production for the stage.

Rooman is about following your dreams and seeing what kind of a journey that can take you on...

This is the story of a girl and a Rooman. A half-man-half-kangaroo begins to frequent the dreams of a young woman, whose uneventful existence had over many years deflated her zest for life. Over time a relationship forms between Rooman and the Girl, causing her unconscious dream state to become the only desirable place for her to be. Her so-called ‘conscious’ existence becomes neglected as she takes desperate measures to spend more time with Rooman. The boundaries between sleep and wake become blurred. An addiction to sleeping pills gradually causes her dreams to fade and her Rooman to disappear. She tries to re-create him, but her efforts are lifeless. In an attempt to re-unite with her friend, she must journey into the real world.

Sleep deprived, and consumed by memories of a fantastical past, she sets off on a journey into the desert in search for Rooman. Along the way she is faced with people and perspectives that reshape her perception of reality. She follows her dreams across deserts- lands that are more vast and dreamlike than any dream she had ever dreamt. These deserts are the pathways that link people and stories, realities that are interconnected though the language of music, dance and creativity.
