Juan Carlos Luna has lived in the US since 1997 and has been a citizen since 2007 working at Eagle Industries, a local factory. Since the economies downturn the factory threatened closure and finally closed in April 2013 leaving Juan with no income. Through a program offered by Eagle Industries, Juan was given the opportunity to return to school at South Central Kentucky Community and Technical College to receive his associates in computerized machining and manufacturing. Juan said he saw this chance for education as a pathway to a better career and a better life for him and his family.
"My goal is, after I graduate and get an Associates, is to get a Bachelors degree," Juan said ", and to be able to pay my kids' school, and for my wife to go to school as well."
