Wow! That was great for the most part.
It did bother me that breast milk ,in huge bold letters,was mentioned for having toxins but they didn't show a bottle mentioning the BPAs or a formula can mentioning the BPAs and toxin/hormone laden formula . There was a cute healthy looking baby holding it's own bottle at the end with all the other healthy looking children. The video almost makes it appear like it is safer to bottle feed than it is to breast feed. Did Ross or Abott labs help sponsor this?

Judy - We are huge breast feeding advocates. We feel the contamination of breast milk is an unethical trespass of one of our most fundamental human rights - to safely feed our babies the way nature intended. We couldn't go into the issue of contaminated formula, cow's milk, or bottles because it's only a 3 minute video. But, if you visit our website, you'll see that we discuss the issues and emphasize that regardless of contaminants, breast feeding is healthiest. We also highlight safer bottles and formulas knowing that not every woman can breast feed exclusively - or sometimes at all. Thanks for your support - and for commenting on the issue so everyone can learn from our discussion!

It bothered me ALOT about the Breast Milk comment. You fail to mention, that despite become *contaminated*, breast milk is a heck of a lot more safe than pumping a chemical laden *Formula*, packed in a BPA can, placed in a BPA bottle. Breastmilk not only provides nutrition, it provides antibodies and NUTURING to an infant.
I will not be supporting your video, and will be facebooking a NEGATIVE response to your crap.

Horrid video...overly emotional, romanticizing the past (*cough* LEAD FRIGGIN PAINT *cough*)...and what is up with disrespecting breast feeding??? This single video has shattered the credibility of Healthy Child Healthy World. This whole campaingn SMELLS LIKE MULTI-LEVEL MARKETING!!! (Is that Amway I smell? Mona Vie? Melaleuca? It's gotta be something like that...)

Sadly, one person's past is another person's toxic current nightmare in their own home, their babies' beds and in the lawn their baby crawls on, innocently. I am so grateful for the artistry and compassion shown both in the Healthy Child WAKE UP video and in Healthy Child's responses here to Mr. & Mrs. Sandy. There are many people whose lives are being uplifted by the beauty and clarity of this video and the Healthy Child blog and events, including mine. Thank you!

Sandy and Sandy's husband - We have heard A LOT from breast-feeders who were upset that we didn't more adequately explain the issue of breast milk contamination. As we said to Judy in the comments above, we are breast-feeding advocates and if you visit our site and search for "breastmilk" - you'll see we always recommend it as the healthiest way to feed your baby. And, we'll certainly be more attentive in the future so that we don't glibly mention such a complicated issue.

I'm also sorry you feel the video was overly emotional and romanticized our polluted past. It's really just a simplified, eye-opening story to get people to stop and think. If you have ideas you think would work more effectively, please email us. We're always grateful for input.

Finally, the video is most definitely not multi-level marketing. We're a non-profit interested in educating people and making the world a better place, not selling you something. We work tirelessly to protect children (including yours - even if you're mad at us or disagree with us.)

I hope that even if the video upset you, you won't throw the baby out with the bath water and you try to find ways that are comfortable for you to support our work creating healthy environments for children.

The video is a well constructed piece, that interprets a difficult, and serious issue. Making the public aware, about the importance of protecting children's health regarding everyday chemicals, is more important than your negative input!

Ugh! I sense something to do with marketing something... And even though the intent MIGHT not have been to disrespect breastfeeding, it definitely was suggested. I caught sight of a baby with a bottle... Is that "healthier" than breastfeeding? NO way. Were there any breastfeeding babies? I didn't see any. Sometimes, it's not about what is said, but what pictures/videos we see with it.... I'm disappointed.

If you were paying attention, you would have realized they were not disrespecting breastfeeding, but pointing out the fact that the majority of baby bottles contain BPA, a toxic chemical.

Come on people... Stop the poo poo-ing and realize this message is about today's world putting a huge chemical burden on our children. You simply cannot argue with that. Go to any playground and look around. Kids are not healthy and have all sorts of behavior issues.
I have a child with autism. Yes, we spend every day trying to keep toxins out of his body, and everyday we try to help him detoxify what he does have in there. He can not handle it on his own!!! We have to live like our ancestors did. Grass fed, organic foods, Cleaning with vinegar and Baking soda. Everything we buy or do, has to be as non toxic as it can possibly be. And still he suffers from toxicity just from breathing the air.
You stand in our shoes for a day, and then let's talk about lead paint and breast milk. WAKE UP!
For your children's sake.
This was a perfect presentation of what is going on, and I applaud anyone who worked on it. Thank you for making the message clear in a creative, capturing way, to educate the rest of us, that do not live with this every day!
