I proudly present the SILVERWING DEMOREEL 2010
I want to thank Heiko Mlodystach for his great sounddesign work on the intro-sequence, the advertising agency zoodesign for providing their computers and equipment and all people that have made this reel possible!
The Reel contains work from the Years 2008-2010 (most of them done in 2009)
Used Software:
3D: Cinema 4D, Next Limit Realflow.
Renderer: C4D Advanced Renderer, V-Ray, Final Render Stage 2, Maxwell Render.
2D and 2,5D: After Effects, Digital Fusion, Premiere, Photoshop, Boujou, Illustrator.
Audio: Audition

Hi are you speakting of the sci fi interior right?
Well there are no real textures... everything is Poly... even the typography. Lighting was done using arealights and GI. I hope that helped you!

Well... The Itro is part of the Presentation too. It is showing my skills in continuous cinematographic 3D work.
Wenn I kind of agree with you saying that repeating isn´t good... but as you see it´s fitting the music really well!
About the 1 frame flashes: Well some ppl really like them... and some dont... its a matter of taste!

Would you mind sharing how you achieved the lens flare in your intro sequence? Was this using a light pass or created in After Effects or Fusion?
Or perhaps a link to a tutorial if you have one. Thanks and great works once again!
Ok... its quite Easy to accieve this result.
I did all of the Animation in C4D. There you can save a file that contains 3D-data for Aftereffects. Such like Camera movement and lights. In After Effects I used Andrew Kramers Final Flares Plugin (thats 3D aware btw.) to generate this lensflares! As I had imported my C4D Camera into After Effects the Lensflare was acting in space just at the right position!
The rest of it is just (good) compositing work!... I´d suggest you watch the making of video from "The Third & The Seventh" (just do a video search on vimeo) vimeo.com/user1337612

Thats awesome about the camera info importing into AE. I assume you need at least one light source in the scene to make it work correct? Also, I assume you can get the same info out of Maya (I hope). I will give it a shot when I get to that point. I still have lots of modeling and animating to do.

One question, how did you first find all those clients? I'm thinking myself to start my own on the side business, but I'm having a hard time to find clients, is there a magic solution? or is it a simple matter of contacts and PR?
Well its not easy to get clients. And to be honest hald of the things shown at my reel are made in my spare time. Due to the financial crisis its really hard to find a good client!
But as you said... I think most of the work getting a good client is setting up PR and connecting to the right ppl!

Ich hab noch keine konkreten Pläne für ein Stereoskopisches 3D-Projekt. Ich versuch gerade nur, mit den neuesten Entwicklungen wie eben Stereo 3D mitzuhalten! Mann muss immer am Ball bleiben!
