The trike is easier to ride than a bike for someone that has Parkinson's disease.

If the road is not flat the trike will want to steer itself down the slope, so the handle bars must be pushed the opposite way. This can catch the unwary. A trike cannot be taken round a corner too fast or it will topple over. The fully able bodied are better off with a bicycle, but a tricycle gives freedom to some who would otherwise not have easy transport. The large shopping basket is a useful bonus with this type of tricycle (the other type having 2 wheels in front and one at the rear
