    hey this looks really nice.
can you save / load settings from xml?

is the entire panel design saved in xml?

I guess I should just look at the info page - but it looks great congrats!

wow that looks ace, looking forward to it! Is the idea that you build your UI in this interface builder, then load the layout in your app? I'm also very excited about the 'OSC address' field :P
  • Dimitri Diakopoulos 2 years ago
hey memo :) well, the idea I think is just to be able to create guis for applications/languages that a) don't have a good gui system or b) don't have any multi-touch support. so really Argos will just communicate with the outside world though osc.
  • Memo Akten plus 2 years ago
ah I see, so it is a standalone app as opposed to a library. Well it looks like an awesome app, a total MSA Remote killer! :P

by the way, dunno if you've seen this post
    openframeworks.cc/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1192&start=90

the new version of openframeworks (not released yet, only on github) has multitouch events in the core. So if you write your app registering those events, it will be cross platform to run on iphone, windows7, tuio devices etc.

sick! keep up the great work. it seems like a much easier way to get a grip of something like maxmsp. i'd imagine you'll be able to link different objects buttons to eachother and do all kinds of insanity with this...? seems like a very exciting flexible piece of software to create a ridiculous platform to work with
  • Dimitri Diakopoulos 2 years ago
yep! in a future release Argos will have 2-way communication between interface and client program, so it will be possible to have all sorts of interface widgets linked up
  • bilderbuchi 2 years ago
looking forward to 2-way communication. could maybe build a nice OF interface between my midicontroller and vvvv with this.

Excellent work! This will make a brilliant companion to Max/MSP while developing patches :) Would be great to have a midi cc option too for software that doesn't support OSC :)
  • Dimitri Diakopoulos 2 years ago
hi andy... thanks! Midi support isn't in the near future, but i'm thinking of releasing a osc to midi translator program for the time being. we'll see how it goes!

If you don't get around to it, I don't mind adding the feature myself. Shouldn't be too much trouble :)
