From the place of Hazon's spiritual and community vision, Nigel Savage examines what food means within the Jewish community, as well as in the broader American landscape. On the one hand, there is the Jewish attention to healthful, clean eating, and the family traditions of Kosher, and bagels, matzo, chicken soup, chopped liver; on the other hand, there is the influence of fast food. Hazon has supported Jewish community agricultural efforts in the US and elsewhere, to maintain a way of addressing food that is healthy for individuals and their environment.
