Well done !!! I used to be on the farm & worked in the dairy industry over here in the UKas an A.I technician :-) & loved every minute of it, Now I look at the land here in the south east almost devoid of any dairy cattle & my job has gone as well so watching this is almost like looking at what is or has happened here !!
    Great Video !!!

I found myself drawn in to the farm way of life very easily. The story is rich with tradition of family and the photography captures it beautifully. Well done.

  • I live in NY Hudson Valley. We used to have hundreds of dairy farms here, but price erosion and regulation has chipped away at the profitability of dairy farms. In the past 20 years, most farms went out of business and sold their land to housing developments. I was secretly glad that the real estate market collapsed because it curtailed the overdevelopment of the McMansions.

Artisanal cheese making has saved the last of the NY dairy farmers -- and if they have a good product, they can sell to NYC restaurants for top dollar. My friend at Lyndhurst Farm in Pine Hill, NY sells her hand made goat cheese to Danny Meyer's restaurants and it keeps her going.

Ronnybrook Dairy opened up restaurants in NYC to sell their dairy products -- and they charge quite a premium (and get it) because it is local, sustainable, and free of growth hormones.

I would love to help but why not sell us the cheese at a decent price and we pay for shipping. 200 for the cheese to pricey for a military cheese loving family :o(
