You know the phrase, "the quiet before the storm." When you know that something is about to go horribly wrong, but hasn't just yet, then you are in the quiet before the storm."
These words from Hamlet came to mind last summer as I reflected on this scripture for Palm Sunday. If the joy associated with his entry into Jerusalem couldn't quite be described as quiet, as in "quiet before the storm," it certainly would be fair to say this was the "praise before the storm."
Listen to the praise in Luke's description of Jesus' entrance into the City of David: "The crowd was crying, 'Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord.'"
