Pictured is an Abrams M1A1 tank of the the 4th Bn, 32nd Armor Regiment, 3rd Armored Division, in southern Iraq in 1991 during the Gulf War. Both the M1A1 and M1A2 are powered by the Honeywell AGT 1500 gas turbine engine, which delivers rapid acceleration, quiet running (as tanks go), and minimal visible exhaust.
