The FISA (World Rowing Federation) presents for the second consecutive year the 2014 Parmigiani Spirit Award. An individual university rower, who demonstrated the core values of rowing in their life gets honoured by a Parmigiani Fleurier watch and the rowing club of the winner will be presented with a custom made new Filippi racing eight boat. The core values are commitment, dedication, determination, endurance, fairness, focus, inclusiveness, life balance, respect for nature, self-discipline and teamwork. An additional point is that the winner has to contribute exceptional success in other people's lives - in education, business, sport or charity. The Parmigiani Spirit Award is open to university students worldwide who row at a competitive level for a university rowing club.
Last year’s winner of the Parmigiani Spirit Award was Great Britain’s rower James Cook. He excelled both academically and in sport as well as dedicating time to coaching while training for international events and raising funds for a charity that provides villages in Africa with clean drinking water.
