Although a difficult and arduous practice, we must give ourselves to this work for the good of our souls and our witness. And so one of the covenantal commitments that we make as members of Jesus’ church at Seven Mile Road is this: “I will strive to live all of my life in response to the gospel, seeking faithful obedience as my answer to God’s gracious commands. Toward this end, I recognize that certain called, gifted and qualified members will serve our body as elders, and I will submit myself to their careful and loving discipline should I embrace habitual, unrepentant sin.”
